CINEMATOGRAPHY

 CINEMATOGRAPHY

Cinematography is camera work or anything done with the camera: angles, shot types, and movement.

Camera Angles

Using camera angles you can make things look smaller or regular level. a low angle shot for example is a low angle looking up but this angle also makes the thing it's looking at seem powerful but a high angle shot is a shot from high angle looking down this makes whatever the shot is looking down at look smaller.

Shot Types

Different shot types have different meanings and things they do such as giving the viewer the setting or emphasis more action. for example a close up shot is when a shot zoomed in on a character butt his shot is here to show the emotion and reaction of a character. another example is a long/wide shot which shows the character from top to bottom but the purpose of this is to focus on that character.

Camera Movement

Even camera movements have denotations and connotations. there is tracking which has the camera follows the subject this makes the audience seem like there are actually in the movie right behind them. there is also panning moving the camera across the screen this is suppose to simulate looking at someone or something.

knowing what shot types where i was able to take and find pictures of these shot types like a close up or a extreme long shot.
before this I knew that the angle of a photo could make the photo look better but I didn't type and angles of photo and camera movement had certain purposes. I love to know if I could combine some random shot and angles and see if it will make since.
